Most curly girls know that terry towels are a problem for curls. If you don't then be sure to read on.
Super absorbent terry towels are perfect for wrapping your body in after a bath or shower but are not so good for your hair. They draw out all the moisture and ruffle up the cuticles leaving you with a big frizzy mess.
Moisture is the antidote for frizz so it's important to preserve as much of it as possible in your curls after washing.
Bouclème's super soft Curl Towel is made of 46% organic cotton 46% bamboo and 8% elasthene. It reduces frizz, maintains moisture levels and enhances curl formation - great for looser curl types!
It also enables curls to dry in less time, whether you air dry or diffuse.
Tips for use
You'll see this method referred to on many curl sites as plunking or plopping, strange I know but it works!
1) Place towel on a flat surface.
2) Lower curls then head onto the middle of the towel. Flip the towel over the back of the head and twist the sides tightly, then tie around the back of your head.
Your curls will now be concertina’d on top of your head, encouraging curl formation as they dry.
Thick porous curls need to retain more moisture so leave the towel on for 15-30 mins maximum.
Fine loose curls will benefit from scrunching curls (with the towel) first and then leaving on for 1-2 hours.
